Privacy Policy

SportVantage builds tools for grassroots sport. This notice covers the three places we handle personal information: this website, the Dugout Report coach dashboard, and the Dugout Report by SportVantage (GameChanger Sync) browser extension. SportVantage is a venture of Unifinity Software Corporation, based in Alberta, Canada.

This website

sportvantage.ca is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party scripts — your browser fetches the page's fonts from Google Fonts, and nothing else leaves the page unless you use the contact form.

When you send the contact form, the name, email address and message you type are emailed to our inquiries@sportvantage.ca mailbox (delivered through Azure Communication Services). We use them only to read and reply to your message.

The GameChanger Sync browser extension

This section is the privacy policy for the browser extension Dugout Report by SportVantage (GameChanger Sync), and it is what the Chrome Web Store and Microsoft Edge Add-ons listings link to.

The extension exists for a single purpose: to copy your own GameChanger team's statistics to your own Dugout Report coach dashboard, at your request. It is operated by you, runs in your browser, and uses your existing GameChanger session.

What the extension accesses

While you are on web.gc.com, the extension reads data the GameChanger client already fetches for you:

• Team season stats and roster — the response bodies of the GameChanger app's own season-stats and players API calls.
• Per-game box scores — fetched for completed games using the same request the GameChanger app uses, to obtain per-game pitch counts.
• Two request headers (gc-token, gc-device-id) from the GameChanger app's own requests, used only to authorize the box-score fetches above. These are your short-lived session credentials; they are never sent anywhere except back to GameChanger's own API.
• The team identifiers in the page URL (short id / slug) so it knows which team you are syncing.

The extension does not read your GameChanger password (you never type it into the extension), your email, payment information, browsing on other sites, or any data from teams you don't open.

How the data is used

When you click Sync, the extension assembles the season stats, roster and per-game box scores and uploads them to the dashboard you connect it to, using your team's upload key (supplied by the connection code you paste from your dashboard's Setup page). That destination is your own coach dashboard. The data is used only to render your dashboard.

What the extension stores, and where

• In your browser only: the dashboard URL and upload key (chrome.storage.local), and a temporary copy of the captured stats for the current browser session (chrome.storage.session, cleared when the browser closes). The gc-token / gc-device-id are held in session memory only for the duration of a sync.
• Nowhere else by the extension. The extension has no backend and no analytics. It transmits data to exactly one place: the dashboard endpoint you configure.

The extension does not sell or share your data with any third party. The only network destinations are GameChanger's own API (*.gc.com, to read what you're already viewing) and the dashboard endpoint you specify.

Permissions

The extension requests access to web.gc.com and api.team-manager.gc.com (to read and replay GameChanger calls). Access to your dashboard's upload URL is requested only after you connect it. It uses browser storage for your settings. It does not request access to your tabs, history, or other websites.

Removing the extension's data

Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored in your browser. Data already sent to your dashboard is governed by the dashboard section below.

The Dugout Report app

Dugout Report turns a team's GameChanger stats into lineups, pitching plans and game-day reports. Doing that means holding personal information about the coaches and families who sign in and — more importantly — about the kids on the team. In summary, the app holds:

• Your account — your name and email address, received from Google or Microsoft when you sign in. We never see or store your password.
• The roster and statistics — player names, jersey numbers, positions and batting / pitching / fielding stats, imported from the team's GameChanger account when a coach runs a sync.
• Optional player photos, uploaded by team staff or families.
• Optional player contact and emergency information — parent or guardian names, phone numbers and emails, and the emergency details a coach's emergency action plan needs. This is the most sensitive information in the app; it is visible only to the audience each setting allows.
• Schedules and standings from Baseball Alberta's public Spordle listings, and one sign-in cookie so you stay logged in. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Most of the app's information is about kids

Players in these leagues are minors, so nearly all roster data, photos and emergency details are children's personal information. The app relies on the adults using it to have the right to share what they add: team staff confirm they are authorized by their team and have — or will obtain before adding it — the consent of each player's parent or guardian; family members add and edit information only for their own linked players.

If a parent or guardian withdraws consent, the team's staff should remove that player's photos and details — or contact us and we'll help.

Who else touches the data

Nobody, except the services that run the products — each only for its narrow job:

• Microsoft Azure hosts this site and the app, and stores the app's data.
• Google and Microsoft handle sign-in only; they tell us your name and email address.
• Anthropic (Claude) generates the app's AI game analysis. When a coach asks for one, the team's and opponent's statistics — including player names — are sent to Anthropic's API to write the brief. This happens only on request, never automatically.
• GameChanger is the source of the statistics. A sync runs under the coach's own GameChanger sign-in and only reads data that account can already see.
• Spordle / Baseball Alberta is the public source of schedules and standings.
• Google Maps Platform supplies the app's address lookup and venue weather.

Where it lives, and for how long

Data is stored in Microsoft Azure, per team and per season, and a sign-in only ever reaches the teams that account has been invited to — access inside a team follows your role. Data is kept for the season it belongs to, and afterwards so returning coaches can look back, until deletion is requested.

Your choices and requests

• Photos, player contact details and emergency information are optional — the app works without them.
• Email us to see, correct or delete a player's details, your own account, or a whole team's data.
• You can withdraw your consent to the app's privacy notice at any time by emailing us; withdrawing it means you can no longer use the app.
• We keep a record of each acceptance of the app's notice (who, when, which version). That record is how we can show consent was given, and it is retained even after a withdrawal.

When this notice changes

If what we collect or how we use it changes, this page is updated and its "last updated" date changes with it. The app's in-app notice is versioned separately: a change there gets a new version and everyone is asked to review and agree again before continuing to use the app.
